My Affiliate New Year’s Resolutions

The new year is upon us. I personally don’t like to blog on the new year day. But I am going to make an exception for today. Year 2008 started great but then things went down hill for the economy, and a whole lot of folks were hurt by the year-end. I can’t say I was affected big time by the economy, but there is no guarantee that I won’t in the new year. Bearing all this in mind, here are things that I want to do in 2009:
- keep an open mind: I was very picky with the niches that I went into in 2008. 2009 is going to be the year that I want to go crazy and try to get started in some crazy niches. I don’t know. Maybe I’ll start a portal on ghost hunting and try to market related products. We’ll see.
- save up for the future: I am not too old, but I guess you are never early when it comes to saving for retirement. I haven’t done that so far. I keep buying these gadgets that I don’t need. I am going to have to save some for the future. What about you?
- invest in my existing businesses: I am already stretched managing portals in 65 micro-niches. It’s tough managing SEO, PPC, and social media stuff. I am going to have to expand by hiring some more folks.
- do things more quickly: I read a book a while ago on how you should do things quickly, even if you got it wrong the first time. I am going to try and home my site launching skills.
- attend more conferences: I went to only 2 conferences in 2008. That’s pathetic. I have been spending a lot of time in my headquarters and still want to avoid flying to California. But I expect to do more traveling in 2009.
- make $50K with Adsense: that’s the number I have in mind for my Adsense sites. I want to be able to make enough money with Adsense to have an OK living. Adsense won’t be my only income, but I want to crack the $50K mark.
- learn to have fun: 2008 has been a difficult year. Incorporated a business, quit my day job, and I haven’t had time to actually have fun. Hopefully, I’ll get to have some fun in 2009. Maybe I’ll learn how to Ski.
- Connect with more folks: I need to network more, and I’d love to meet some new folks in 2009. I guess we will see about that.
So what’s on the top of your priorities for 2009? Keep in mind that the above lists are only my affiliate things to do and not my personal goals for 2009.
