Just Lost Your Job? Try Affiliate Marketing…

Just lost your job? You are not alone. Thousands of people are expected to lose their jobs in the first quarter of 2009, and unless you want to work for the FBI, you are going to have to struggle to find a new job these days. I can’t tell you how many of my friends have found themselves without a job and they couldn’t even see it from a mile. But if you are working in industries that have been badly affected by the economy, you can expect things to get worse. A friend of mine once told me that he was surely “safe.” But now he is looking for a job.

Here is my rule. I don’t care what your higher ups tell you. You are never safe in the corporate world. You have no real rights in the corporate world. Unless you are Steve Jobs, you can get fired and replaced. And don’t think for a second that your corporation will actually care about your mortgage payments or auto loan. Companies are out there to make a profit, and folks like you and I often end up paying for their troubles.

What surprises me is how many folks keep looking for jobs without trying their hands in a business of their own. I have had friends who line up one interview after another but don’t take time to start a website or promote an offer. Time to learn things is now. You can’t go wrong. What’s the worst that can happen? You are sitting home, looking to find a new job. You may as well learn something in the process, even if you never get to use it. I hate to admit it, but a lot of us have been spoiled in the past few years. We have had our jobs and can’t imagine not finding another one. But being fired in 2009 could be the best thing that can happen to one. Research has shown that unless our backs are against the walls, some of us won’t take any action. You can believe me that folks are going to find their backs against the wall. So why not try your hand in affiliate marketing?
