Does Affiliate Marketing Make You Fat?

December 18, 2008No Comments

That’s an interesting question that many have been asking in the past. Does affiliate marketing make you fat? I know a lot of folks don’t give these issues a thought. After all, there could be many other reasons for someone getting back. Just as you can’t claim coffee is giving you cancer if you smoke 2 packs a day.

In case of affiliate marketing, there are enough reason to make this argument. Affiliate marketing is all about finding the right offer, do keyword research, create sites, create landing pages, promote landing pages with PPC, and build relationships with leads. All the above steps need you to spend a lot of time in front of the computer. Spending hours a day in front of a computer can be boring, and one way to get over the boredom is by eating junk food.

Making money online could be addictive too. You may actually spend more time than you would normally in a real job creating campaigns and managing your affiliate offers, which means you are not going to have enough time exercising. You may argue that super-affiliates and successful Internet marketers all look ripped and fit. First of all, that’s not always true (Frank Kern is fit but not everyone is). Besides, these guys have a few folks working for them (doing their dirty work).

Does affiliate marketing make you fat? Not by itself. But it certainly can be a good choice for lazy folks. If you are an active person, there is a good chance that you are going to find a way to keep your active lifestyle. But if you have been a couch potato before, there is a good chance that affiliate marketing will help you stay in bed more often, which means you will burn less calories and get fatter. But as long as you are making the big bucks, that’s a good problem to have.
