You have probably seen it already. Most informational products have that, proof of concept. Let’s say you want to buy a book on Stumbleupon. Wouldn’t you be more inclined to buy it if you knew the book actually help you generate more traffic to your site? I bet you would. Every buyer wants to know if he/she can trust the sellers with their products. One way to do that is by providing proof of concept to your customers.

People who are selling products about adsense do it all the time. They show you a screen-shot of their adsense check (often an insanely huge check) to prove to you that their methods actually work. This is a very powerful concept and can tempt even the smartest anti-marketing folks. Now this technique doesn’t work for every market, and there are other techniques that you can use to complement this (e.g testimonials).

There are many ways you can provide proof of concept to your buyers. If you are selling a software package, you can create a video and show how it helps you save time, money or both. If you are selling a HDTV or any other electronics, you can use information from Consumer Reports, CNET, and other awards sites to prove why the product you are selling is the best. Finally, screenshots are great proofs of concept as well. Remember that your goal is to show your potential customers why you believe your product fits their needs, and why they should believe you. By providing them with the necessary proof, you can take a big step towards converting your audience into customers.
