Affiliate Marketing Storm Is coming!

I have heard so many doom and gloom predictions that I couldn’t resist to have one of my own. The affiliate business has been good to many of us. We don’t have to work for anyone but ourselves, and the more effort you put in behind smart tactics, the more you are going to make in this business. But what do you when the market becomes too saturated? I don’t know if you have been paying attention but people have been losing their jobs left and right. A few years ago, people would go and get a real estate license, hoping the would make money in a flash using their license. But not these days, my friends. And desperation levels the playing field big time. When you have nothing to lose, you go for the fences. You may miss, but you might take out a few people out in the process.
What does that mean for us affiliates? Simple. A lot of us will have to tighten our belts. It’s going to be a rough ride when:
- Thousands of folks flood the affiliate market, hoping to make enough money to pay their bills.
- Desperate folks try copy-cat tactics to make money online.
- the laid off nation spends 20 hours a day to make traditional affiliate tactics useless.
- the competition raises to a whole new level in micro-PPC-niches.
- folks are too desperate to give up!
- people turn to black-hat tactics to steal commission from fellow affiliate marketers.
- the bar is raised too high too fast for many affiliates to keep up.
Desperate people do desperate things. A lot of these guys won’t make it in the affiliate business. But desperate tactics could ruin business for a lot of affiliates. Super-affiliates will probably be fine as long as they keep their cards close to their chests. But everyone else can expect their campaigns to be duplicated, their content to be stolen, and the traditional affiliate tactics to become less effective. It’s all very similar to the concept of arbitrage. If people are making money in a market, and the barriers of entry are too low, you can expect people to enter as long as there is money to be earned. But what do you do when people have nothing to lose? Don’t fret! If you can keep up, it’s going to be a fun ride…
